I purchased my new-to-me 1979 Jeep CJ7 on September 17th, 2011. I recently sold my 1989 Porsche 911/964 daily driver. Twelve years ago my buddy had a rusted out junker of a Jeep. It was a mess. I loved driving that vehicle as often as he would let me. I've been searching for a "beater" Jeep locally. After not finding one, I placed a Wanted add on Craigslist. Within days I had found my new Jeep.

Unlike my 1966 Porsche 912 restoration or my 1989 Porsche 911/964 performance enhancement project I plan to keep this Jeep pretty close to what it is today. There are things I am planning on doing (sloppy shifter, sloppy steering, questionable wiper motor, new AC unit, etc.), but I intend to simply drive this one. If I do undertake a project or two I will be sure to document it.
